Stop the insanity

It's finally been determined that there are people out there who are so afraid of being the cause of global warming that they are going insane. See the link at the bottom about a 17 year-old is convinced beyond any reasoning that if he continues to drink water he will destroy the Earth for all mankind and has henceforth decided he will drink no more. Sounds crazy right? It shouldn't come as a surprise. For many the prevailing view presented to them is that global warming is real and we, man, are the cause of it.

Now I don't have a problem at all believing global warming is occurring. It probably is -- or was until a few years ago. Data of the last couple years show that temperatures have actually dropped globally. Climate alarmist know this. And they have began to change their language. The term "global warming" is falling out of vogue with those who wish to control every aspect of our lives. And instead they are using the term "global climate change." That way, when a cooling trend occurs, they can still claim man is causing it and force us to do as they say.

If anyone American citizens should fight this. But we've became too indoctrinated by it. When high school and middle school teachers (not the best and the brightest in our society mind you) are hornswaggeled by Al Gore and the mainstream media's assumption that man-made global warming exists and go so far as to show Gore's documentary as fact in science class, then it accentuates the problem. Once you get the mind of the children to believe you they grow up and as adults say, "Well I've always believed that." Can you imagine being told something from the most authoritative person in your life, in middle school, that something was absolutely true. And 10 or 15 years later finding out it wasn't so cut and dry and in fact this person you respected your whole life may have been manipulated? That's not an easy pill to swallow for anyone.

But let's address some of the biggest concerns of global warming: melting polar ice caps that cause rising sea levels and CO2 emissions.

If global temperature rises, then water in its solid form (IE. ice) at the ends of the Earth melt and turn to water. Then wouldn't one reason that the water in its liquid forms around the middle of the Earth (IE. equator) would more easily turn to its gaseous state (IE. water vapor)? The net effect wouldn't be rising sea levels, but instead a higher amount of water vapor in the air. For many, this would mean higher humidity. Which would suck, but by no means destroy billions to billionth power of high-priced real estate.

So what about CO2 emissions? One of the best ways to save the planet from CO2 emissions would be to kill lots of people and mammals. Because people and mammals put off CO2 all day every day. Funny how the same people who want to end CO2 emissions generally have the same amount of extreme opposition to such things as war and the death penalty. But seriously, in the 1980s the destruction of the rain forests -- which supplied out oxygen -- were being destroyed and we were to have no more air to breath. Well, an increase of CO2 in the atmosphere should make it easier for all those farmed trees and plants to recoup. That's a good thing right?

The fact of the matter is that apparently most humans must be constant hand-ringers. Global warming fanatics and religious fanatics often find themselves opposed. They are both hand-ringers. I'm a hand-ringer too, but my hand-ringing is whether I will be able to pay the mortgage or if I remembered to turn off the stove. To ring your hands and worry about whether man is going to destroy the planet or whether someone else is going to hell is a bit silly. Maybe I was left without that gene. But both sets of fanatics are a lot closer than they realize. Both seem crazy to me. Do I believe in a hokey science for which there can be no proof that the world is ending? Do I believe in a man-made religion that was invented to control the masses and keep them in line and doing their daily work? No to both. Both are all about opposing powers that be trying to tell everyone else what to do. And that pisses me off.

If you are so concerned with global warming, then sell your car. Ride a bike. Buy some cheap land. Grow a garden. Turn off the air conditioning. Oh, and freeze to death in the winter for those of you living at the colder edges of the planet. Don't want to kill any trees or put CO2 in the air by having a fire now do we? The simple truth of the fact is man causes waste and depletes resources. And if we cause too much waste and deplete too many resources I have faith -- I know uh-oh -- that Mother Earth will strike us down with vengeance. Famine. Plague. Nonetheless, no matter what happens, the human species will survive. And so will the Earth. It might get ugly in the meantime, but both we and the Earth will go on. So global warming people aren't really about saving the planet. They are about saving their wealth and lifestyles. They don't want to give up their luxuries, they want everyone else to. See Al Gore.

It's about control. It's about the same amount of control and fear-mongering that Evangelical Christians who preach fire and brimstone are so often accused of. "Do what I tell you to do, or you will burn in hell. I'm trying to help you." How is that different than the mantra of global warming fanatics. "Do what I tell you do do, or you will burn on Earth."

Believe in the Red Sox or the Yankees. Believe in the Patriots or the Colts. But don't believe either one of these extremists. Neither one have proof of what they preach and never will.
